Babywearing at the Oklahoma Occupational Therapist Association Conference, Sept. 2017.

It’s that time of year. Time to move, work, clean out, take inventory, and make plans to talk about babywearing to Occupational Therapists. The American Occupational Therapy Association states that an Occupational Therapist’s work is to ask, “What matters to you?” not, “What’s the matter with you?”(AOTA, 2017). This statement is indicative of a professional stance that we should be empowering our patients; focusing on the skills they have, not what they have lost. Other healthcare professionals would do well by their patients by adopting this stance as well. OTs do wonderful and amazing things for the people they serve and I’m excited to be able to spend some time with these amazing professionals.
