Babywearing and vestibular stimulation

Have you heard of vestibular stimulation?
“The vestibular system, which contributes to balance in most mammals and to the sense of spatial orientation, is the sensory system that provides the leading contribution about movement and sense of balance.” source:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vestibular_system
Stimulation of the vestibular system is an essential part of every child’s neurological (brain) development.
Vestibular stimulation occurs when we move, rock, bounce and sway our children. This calming motion helps neurological development and can improve language skills when there is a delay in development. It can also reduce self stimulatory behaviors or “stimming” in children with sensory processing issues such as autism spectrum disorders. Some high priced infant equipment touts this benefit but babywearing provides it for free!
